With both her past work experience and her personal use of the library, Kristin feels that she will be beneficial as a trustee. She understands the importance of working as a team, event planning and budgets. She also knows firsthand how important the library is to the community and families like hers.
Kristin believes that the Barrington Area Library is an essential resource to the community and her family has enjoyed many of the programs it offers. She feels that education is important, and that the library is an extension to learning for all ages. Kristin believes that the services the library provides have become a staple in the community. Chase was born and raised in Barrington where she attended Grove Avenue Elementary, Station Middle School, and Barrington High School. She worked at her family’s business for two years before attending DePaul University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology. While at DePaul, she worked in The CITIES Mentor Project research lab with elementary school children in south Chicago. The research focused on how stressful life experiences affect children and how children can learn and grow from those experiences. She also participated in DePaul’s Undergraduate Research Assistant Program for the Faultline US-Russia Project where she analyzed team composition for future space exploration. These experiences taught her how to be a team member, and what variables constitute an effective and efficient team. She believes that bringing this knowledge to the Library Board will be useful when making decisions for the betterment of our community.
Chase is determined and passionate to bring new ideas, teamwork, and community to our public library. She is determined to ensure that our funds are allocated in alignment with the views of our community members. She is focused on ensuring that the values between the community and the board are aligned, and that everyone in the community is aware of what is happening within our public spaces.
